A person who takes out a first motorcycle learner permit on or after 6 December 2010 will be required to undertake mandatory initial basic training (IBT) with an approved driving instructor (ADI). The course will be 16 hours for motorcycle. www.rsa.ie

Bike hire is included in the cost of module 2 and 4 as is the use of helmet and gloves if needed, please wear sturdy footwear (hiking boots or similar) and warm clothing on the day.. Trainers and light shoes are not suitable for module 2 or 4.

Both modules 1 and 2, with 3 and 4 being taken and paid for on the second day. this is a 2 day event so both days are done within at least 2 weeks of each other.

A 2 day intensive IBT course is recommended by bikesafe.ie. These two 8 hour days consist of Modules 1 and 2 on day 1 and Modules 3 and 4 on day 2 go to SYLLABUS for full details of course structure.
